Slinky and Neptune (formerly Needle)

My partner and I visited Tiny Lions mid-September with an open heart and an open mind to meet the kittens. We met these 2 kittens but tried to take our time deciding if they were the missing pieces to our family. It took us less than a day to be sure they were. In the shelter, Slinky (dark gray) was identified by staff as "the bully," pummeling the little boy kittens and Neptune (formerly needle) (dilute tortie) was shy, hiding under furniture from strangers but unable to resist reaching out little paw to play. At the shelter, they did not interact much with each other and the staff wondered how they would mesh as a pair. It took maybe 1 day at home for them to fall in love with each other. They are constantly either cuddling or playing with each other and exploring the world around them. Slinky's outgoin…

Tango, left, and Fozzy (f/k/a Manson), right, love their screened in porch. They get to be safely in the great outdoors.

Okay, wow, ginger cats, huh? Suddenly I'm thinking about marmalade. Seriously though, adopting pets is amazing. Mid-April adoption, that's practically spring fever manifesting as fur. This reminds me of when our family dog escaped once. It was terrifying, we searched everywhere! Finding him felt like winning the lottery. Sharing our dog's adventure is like Slope Unblocked, it takes many turns to get to the final destination.

Update on Pinot (formerly Scrunchie)

Pinot was adopted in August of 2021 as a kitten! She has meant so much to me as she was with me when I graduated college and still is now as I have gotten married and have a baby. She is so so loved and has a sweet kitty brother named Grigio. She is very playful, sweet and has very exciting birthday parties every year. We are so grateful to have her as part of our family ❤️🥰

I love imagining her birthday parties—they must be as fun and unpredictable as Snake Game, trying to catch all the treats without getting too tangled up

Mikerowave (formally Shooting Star). It has been a little over a year since we brought him home. He loves his brother Milk, is a biiiig cuddle bug, will lick your face till it hurts, and loves to play fetch! 😂💕

Mikerowave, you charming furball! So, another year of furry mayhem, huh? Cuddles and endless licks sound like a recipe for pure, unadulterated joy. Fetch fanatic, eh? I once had a dog obsessed with squeaky toys; the noise drove me bonkers. Reminds me of when I was trying to finish a project with a looming deadline, and my internet died. Total dead stop. Talk about feeling stuck! Thankfully, a neighbor knew their way around routers and became my impromptu Block Breaker, fixing the connection so I could submit on time. What a lifesaver!
